We now have the capability to issue birth certificates from 1971 to present day (Child has to be at least 10 days old) through the state vital record system regardless of which county you were born as long as it is in within North Carolina. You may get the license from Franklin County and marry in any county within the State of North Carolina. You may obtain marriage licenses to get married from our office as well, please refer to the page regarding Marriages for more information and the requirements. Our marriage certificates date back to 1869 however, we also have a bond book that has marriage information dating back to 1779. Our birth and death records date back to 1913 and are for those that were born or died here in Franklin County. The vital records that you may obtain from our office include births, deaths and marriage certificates. Our office also maintains military discharge records and the vital records of the county. These documents include deeds, deeds of trust, powers of attorney, assumed names, maps, and other miscellaneous documents related to real property. ![]() The Register of Deeds office serves as the custodian for documents related to real estate located in Franklin County, which date back to 1776. Serving as Registrar since 2011 and Franklin County since 2001. ![]()
